With a mixture of straightforward hard techno and breakbeat, this second opus on Sense Of Sound might be the best of the lot.Reverb-laden radio communications, bouncy kicks, moody synth layers and an incisive Acid line make up Increasing Audio. It has the useful tempo and feel that sit between 1990s tracks and more recent, faster compositions, which makes it a useful DJ tool. It works well on its own too, though it is unlikely to stop everyone in their track.Alpha Emissions is a lot darker and deeper, with a kick from the abyss, desolate synths and worrying vocal snippets: "We've completed preliminary cerebral load for first-class test." It takes 2:50 for the teasing Acid loop to kick in, but when it finally does, it is the cherry on top that complements the hypnotic journey nicely indeed.Beneath The Surface is perhaps the most traditional track on display; it is an unchallenging four-to-the-floor burner with an uplifting vibe, an infectious groove and a hallucinatory couple of Acid lines that will mess with the dancers' heads!
