7th Heaven - Synergy download free

Synergy is the 2013 release from Chicago-based pop-rockers 7th Heaven. I caught the band's live set at the recent MelodicRock Fest 3 event, and while their music is a lot poppier than I tend to get into, they put on such a great show I felt compelled to pick up a couple of their CDs.This is a really catchy, really fun pop album. Synergy has a slight rock edge, but it's the bouncy rhythms and vocal harmonies (there's a bit of a Hanson vibe there) that dominate the album. The band has a new frontman, and the rest of the guys do a fantastic job on backing vocals. Album opener "We Live Life Young" is the album's best song, and could very easily fit onto top 40 radio, and "Pages" and "I'll Be Waiting" are also highlights. The band trimmed the song number way back for this release, including a more standard 12 tracks instead of the 20+ they usually serve up, but that helps keep the filler to a minimum.This is a lot further into pop territory than I usually venture, but Synergy is just too much fun to resist. I can see 7th Heaven appealing somewhat to fans of Reckless Love and Bon Jovi, but I think fans of Maroon 5 and similar mainstream pop fans are going to get the most out of Synergy. And if you get a chance to catch 7th Heaven live, you shouldn't pass it by.
